Marcus G. Ollig is the President and Founder of The Advocates and Targeted Legal Staffing Solutions (TLSS). The Advocates, a premier targeted legal search firm, named by Forbes as one of the top search firms in the U.S. several times, was founded in 2002 and is focused on serving law firms and corporate legal departments out of its five offices. Initially a division of The Advocates, TLSS was established in 2016 to focus on the temporary, temporary-to-hire and direct hire legal professionals to law firms and corporate legal departments.

In addition to running The Advocates and TLSS, Mr. Ollig’s personal practice is centered on law firm mergers and partner placements. He works with senior law firm leaders and corporate executives on their most strategic legal hires. On the lateral side, Mr. Ollig works with law firm Partners, Associates, corporate General Counsel and Counsel to help them identify and secure the best roles for their career development. Over his career, Mr. Ollig has interviewed thousands of attorneys in support of achieving their goals for their career or for their organization.

Marcus is a business veteran with over 25 years of management experience in both the public and private sectors. The Advocates’ and Targeted Legal Staffing Solutions’ unique processes, designed to save clients time and reduce turnover, reflects the best practices learned over that career. Mr. Ollig has been hired by law firms for various consulting projects on reducing turnover, law firm differentiation, and how to interview more effectively. Prior to founding The Advocates, Marcus served as Vice President, Western Region for Randstad, N.A., the largest staffing services company in the world. In that role, he opened several branches for the company in California, Colorado, and Oregon, while successfully managing 27+ locations and over 160 people in five states. His business unit was responsible for putting more than 2000 employees to work weekly. He served a key role in several acquisitions, which helped him gain additional insight into best practices around the country; implemented new behavior-based interviewing and hiring practices; assisted in the re-design of the company’s compensation structure; and helped to design and implement a completely new field structure for Randstad, N.A..

Mr. Ollig holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Colorado – Boulder. He was one of three executives at Randstad chosen from North American to study international staffing trends at IESE, Barcelona, Spain and TiasNimbus Business School, The Netherlands.

He has been interviewed in various local TV and Radio news outlets in Denver and Seattle on employment trends, quoted in publications including the American Lawyer, the Denver Business Journal, and Law Week Colorado -- which also named Mr. Ollig Top Legal Recruiter. His articles have appeared in various legal publications as well including the Colorado Lawyer, the official publication of the Colorado Bar Association, and the Denver Business Journal.

Marcus serves as the Treasurer on the Board of the ALCU Colorado.
